Welcome to Kamilari, a cretan village like no other... See preceding photo See next photo Traditional, but opened to modernity... Not on the main roads (hopefully!) but not isolated... Both international and deeply cretan... Facing both sea and mountain... Touristic, but living all year long... Local people used to say that Kamilari is one of the most authentic villages of the area. It is also considered by foreigners as one of the sweetest and most beautiful places they know. But still it�s hard to tell where this comes from... from the sweetness of the summer nights you spend on the terrace, talking and savouring local fruits... from the charm of the two small places and the narrow streets between stone or white houses... from the village parties, or more simply the live music sometimes played at the terrace of a kafenio... from the hospitality of people and their inimitable way of offering you the products of their garden or some of their personal raki... or from the 380° panorama on the Libyan sea, the White Moutains, the Psiloritis top and the ocean of olive trees of the Messara plain...
